We all know how artistic Chanel adverts are and most of the time I enjoy them. OK only the N0.5 as that's my favourite scent of Chanel. But since the Nicole Kidman featured advert I was uninterested and they seemed boring, until one afternoon, just before 'Suburgatory', I saw a shortened version of the new advert. I WAS AMAZED. The direction of Baz Luhrmann expresses the classic and cinematic feel of what a Chanel parfum story should be.

The Chanel website ,www,chanel.com, features a variety of sub sections on the making of the advert which were so interesting to watch and understand how and why some of the details in the advert were created.
CERFBOARD.
Chanel N0.5 + Surfing?? Possibly the best idea to have been pitched and my favourite scene. The appeal of wanting to go surfing and wanting the surfboard, from someone who has a self diagnosed water phobia, the advert wins at delivering and understanding of how to appeal to not only their audience but mostly everyone. The setting of the sea and surfing reflects the mood and relationship of the story line occurring and somehow connects and engages the audience...well to me it did.
And also important message to any readers, Christmas is approaching and that Chanel surfboard is a must.
