On Wednesday, we were taken to the Broadway Cinema to see the documentary of Bill Cunningham a New Yorker fashion photographer known for his candid and natural street style photographs.
I found the documentary about Cunningham to be inspiring and influential as it shows his honest dedication and appreciation of the fashion world and how he admires peoples different styles of fashion.
His rapid and fire cracking ability to take a photograph wherever, whenever expresses his tactful and creative eye. I too attempted to use this ability during the Street Style task and even after, if I had seen an outfit I liked or even found some persons style to be extraordinary I would begin to take rapid yet (some of the times) effective photography. (with their permission of course!)
On Tuesday, after our seminar we were shown possibly the most fashionable documentary.Carine Roitfeld, is on the table for one of the most influential women in fashion. I didn't know as much detail about Roitfeld, only that she was the editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris and had close connections to Givenchy and also was occasionally on Kim Kardashian's Instagram page...yes, I follow Kim K...but you have to agree her fashion is questionably chic..most times.
Whilst watching the documentary I admired the insight to her personal life and how she is so down to earth and a family woman and it moved away from this 'stone hearted' women of fashion. Although, at some parts it seemed to be shown as a true appreciation and a more of a 'isn't she a great woman' kind of vibe. Doesn't mean to say I dislike her as it's the complete 180 opposite! I just found at times it drifted away from a particular subject and became a more of a, as before, appreciation towards her.
But, can we just talk about the couture and fashion house insight! It was amazing to be able to invision how the fashion world works behind the runway and stores, a crazy, stressful yet extraordinary and beautiful type of world.
